is a unique institution. We are a public, four-year university beginning limited expansion into graduate programs. This year, we are launching our first masters degreethe M.S. in Criminal Justice.
Located in the heart of Houston, UH-Downtown offers excellence, opportunity and diversity to our nearly 9,000 students.
For our dedicated faculty, the watchword is teaching excellence. UHDs dedicated faculty ensure that our more than 30 academic degree programs are up-to-date and in-depth, to help students prepare for the professional demands of the changing workplace. Students are able to access faculty members to get individual attention to their academic needs.
The staff of UH-Downtown join our faculty in making this university student-friendly, with innovative programs designed to give students the opportunity to succeed.
Innovative course options mean more ways to get a high-quality education. UHD offers classes on videotape, and via live interactive television in a number of locations, including the UH System at Fort Bend in Sugar Land, the University Center in the Woodlands, and San Jacinto College North. The Weekend College and evening classes put a degree within reach for students with full-time day jobs.
In order to offer even more options to our students, UHD now offers a number of classes on-line. And we are adding new degree programs. Two examples are International Business and Safety and Fire.
UHDs rich student diversity offers a tremendous advantage to individuals entering the multicultural workplace of the 21st century. Our students are diverse in every sense of the wordby age, ethnicity, culture, and life circumstances.
So, come Get a Life! at UHD, and get ready for your future.
